Overview A British or American exchange student, but based on the chapter 172 most likely British. Due to kanji having no spacing inbetween words, and English names putting the family name last, Harry's name can be mistranslated as "Harima Kenji". Harry appears to have a deep reverence for samurai, based on episodes 21 and 22. He is extremely athletic, as seen during the sports festival. Drives a sports motorcycle that is a parody of gundam. Can be seen usually hanging out with Tougou Masakazu. Makes a good team when paired up with Lala Gonzalez as seen during the sports festival. Suave and a little flirtatious, Harry is shown putting the moves on various 2-C girls at different times, including both Ichijou Karen and Yuuki Tsumugi. Relationships Rivals Hanai Haruki: Hanai attacks Harry in an alleyway following a misunderstanding caused by Harry's name. A proud member of class 2-C, Hanai feels especially strongly that he must stand up to Harry and Tougou's challenges. Harima Kenji: Harry's effortless cool and athletic prowess (and perhaps the similarities between their names) cause Harima to see him as a rival. Best Friends Tougou Masakazu: Whether playing chess at WAS Burger or challenging 2-C, Harry and Tougou are usually seen together. Harry doesn't seem to mind Tougou's grandstanding, though he bristles when Tougou refers to him as "partner".

Background Overview Class 2C’s representative, Hanai has a strong sense of moral justice and always tries to do the right thing, except when it comes to Tsukamoto Tenma’s younger sister Yakumo, whom he admires (thoroughly). He is very enthusiastic and stubborn, and takes everything too seriously. All these attributes, combined with his outspoken character, make him a true, natural born leader. He is a friendly person, who always helps out his friends and people around him that having a difficult situations. Even though he makes his first appearance in episode #2, his true character is fully shown for the first time in episode #4, and from then on he steps in as one of the main supporting characters of the series. His obsession with Yakumo gets him banned from the Tea Club by its president, Takano Akira; and from then on he becomes the object of Akira’s merciless yet witty sarcasm and criticism. Talents Both smart and strong, Hanai is probably the best student in his class, along with Takano Akira. He’s also a great martial artist with a black belt in kempo (kenpo). Quite capable of holding his own in a fight, he regularly displays his prowess not only by fighting Harima all the time but also by defeating opponents from other dojos. Hanai has shown his talent in sports and physical activities as well, such as running, hockey, and other sports. He always put his maximum effort and energy for what he's doing and has been titled, God of Wind, from what he have accomplish in a relay track race. Putting his best effort into whatever he does and always demanding the best of himself, he’s never content with less than the best results in whatever he does, so whatever he decides to do he does it well (except playing the flute, which no matter how hard he tried, he never managed to learn how to play a single decent note with). This includes sports, cooking and ordering people around. If he could put that much effort into his social skills, he could probably have a chance to win Yakumo’s heart. Relationships Love Interests Tsukamoto Yakumo: Hanai’s obsession with Yakumo began when he saw her sleeping on a bench near the school and fell immediately and hopelessly in love with her. But being the straight-forward, psychotically obsessive guy he is, he only manages to drive her away, forcing her to hide from him every time he comes near her. His obsession and passion of love for Yakumo sometimes gives him powerful emotions to accomplish his tasks, for her and for others as well. Best Friends Suou Mikoto: Hanai’s childhood friend, Mikoto has remained his best friend since then. A fellow martial artist, she studied with Hanai in his father’s dojo, and inspired him to be brave and ‘become a hero’ like her. Their relationship is beautifully shown in episode # 13, when he remembers all this before Mikoto’s birthday party. Rivals Harima Kenji: His admiration for Tsukamoto Yakumo, and the misunderstandings caused by her sharing her sister Tenma’s family name: Tsukamoto, end up making Hanai become Harima’s nemesis, and due to both of them possessing strong personalities and fighting skills, the interaction between the two of them makes for some of the best moments in School Rumble. Despite this rivalry, Hanai often teams up with Harima to take on class 2-D. Takano Akira: As cool-headed and calm as she is, the always-in-control Akira finds herself feeling really annoyed by Hanai’s personality, and this makes her always look down upon him and mistreat him. The best example of this is perhaps the Tea Club scene in episode #5, where she secretly puts hot pepper in the tea and makes him drink it, as a test for joining the Tea Club, which he fails miserably. Harry MacKenzie: Initially the victim of another misunderstanding, Harry (whose name’s Japanese pronunciation sounds very similar to “Harima Kenji”), first becomes Hanai’s rival when he mistakes him for Harima and they start a fight. Later on, that rivalry is extended even further during the Sports Festival, where Hanai takes and endures the full impact of one of Harry’s powerful kicks during the horse riding fight competition. Tougou Masakazu: As class representatives of thier respective classes, Tougou and Hanai have a natural rivalry. Hanai works hard to defend the honor of class 2-C from 2-D's challanges.

Background Overview Passionate and feisty, the Twin Tailed Golden Haired Goddess is one of School Rumble's most memorable characters, capturing the hearts of fans from around the world. While initially slated for a supporting role in the story, Sawachika Eri's unpredictable relationship with Harima Kenji has drawn the two of them into the spotlight as the primary protagonists in School Rumble. Eri makes her debut appearance in chapter #7 of the manga (Episode #1 in the anime). Her picture appears on the cover of Volume 3 (Harima appears in SD form on the rear cover), and the cover of Volume 16 (in SD form next to Harima). She is also the featured character of the third image album. Origins Eri was born in Kyoto, Japan, as heiress to a wealthy family. She was raised in England, before returning to Japan for high school. Her mother is half-Japanese, and her father is an English businessman whose work frequently takes him away from home. While all her needs are provided for by her butler, Nakamura, Eri feels isolated and wishes that she could see her father more often. Talents and Weaknesses A fast learner, Eri picks up most skills and ideas very quickly. This shows in her studies, earning her high marks in most of her subjects. While not as athletic as her close friend, Suou Mikoto, Eri is strong at a number of sports. She is an extremely fast runner, winning races at the school's athletics festival. Due to an injured leg, however, she is unable to complete in the school's relay race. Eri's ability to learn new skills with ease carries over into sports as well. Despite her inexperience at playing softball, she becomes an effective pitcher in a short period of time, after listening to the advice of her peers. Eri is very competent with a rifle, showing proficiency at skeet shooting. She is also an expert skier and Kendo practitioner. Outside of Sports, Eri shows her talents in acting. She plays the lead role for both the Cultural Festival Play and the Class Movie, and she has a reputation for never forgetting her lines. She is also skilled at hairstyling and fashion, which she considers as careers that she may enter into in the future. Despite her many talents, Eri is consistantly weak in a number of areas, leading to a sense of inadequacy that she hides behind her pride in her many accomplishments. As a foreigner to Japan, she is weak in her use of Kanji. This causes her to occasionally misread or misuse words, often resulting in a comedic effect. She is a terrible cook, being only marginally better than her classmate and friend, Tsukamoto Tenma. She prefers making curry to nikujaga, based on her father's preference. Eri's other weaknesses include sewing and swimming, although she does learn to swim a distance of 2 metres under Harima's "guidance." Personality Public Image While idolized by most of the male population of her class, Eri frequently spurns their attention. Most of this attention comes from the image that she presents in public. On the surface, she appears to be graceful, calm, and under control. On the inside however, she is a turmoil of emotions - proud, jealous, and insecure. Only her closest friends understand both facets of her character. Eri feels isolated on two fronts. The girls resent her for being attractive, and the guys see only her external beauty - most of them have no interest in her as a person. As a result, Eri is constantly forced to listen to insincere confessions. At the same time, she is an idealist, dreaming of finding someone who sees her for who she is. Throughout the series, Eri recieves a number of confessions from her classmates. In this regard, Eri is very direct, responding to the confessions based on their sincerity. While she is normally very polite in her responses, she has little tolerance for insincerity or arrogance. Out of all of the confessions that Eri recieves, Harima's confession to her stands out, possessing a genuineness and a passion that none of the other confessions had. Personal Life Eri is a very sensitive person who shows the utmost care and respect for her friends. While she lives a very comfortable life, it is also a very lonely one - and she values her friends that much more for it. On the surface, she acts calm and unaffected by the people around her - but that's part of a guise to hide her fear of rejection and her desire for the approval of the people around her. However, she always manages to do the right thing when it counts. Eri frequently stands up for her friends, often choosing to do good deeds for them in secret. This is shown in a number of situations throughout the series, where she helps out Tenma, Akira, and Harima on a number of separate occasions. At home, Eri has a parents who are able to provide her with the comforts of material success, but not the closeness of a normal parent-child relationship. As a result, despite having all the material comforts in the world, one of Eri's deepest wishes is simply to cook Nikujaga and spend an evening with her father like a normal girl. She yearns for a normal, open relationship - one which her position in life does not afford her. Relationships Love Interests While Eri is often seen in public with many guys, only one manages to capture her attention and her heart. Harima Kenji: Harima and Eri's love/hate relationship forms the basis for the ever popular Flag pairing. Initiated accidentally by a mistaken confession made by Harima, Eri's relationship with Harima has become the central focus of School Rumble. The interactions between the two play an important role in their growth as characters, and also serves as a basis for many of the series's most memorable jokes. Eri refers to Harima by the nickname "Hige," which means "Beard." Harima refers to Eri by the nickname "Ojou," which means "Princess." Family Eri comes from a very wealthy family. So far, we have been introduced to Eri's parents, and two members of her family's housekeeping staff. Eri's Father: Eri admires her father, who is often away on business trips. She prefers to make curry over nikujaga, based on her father's preference. Eri's Mother: Eri has a strong relationship with her mother. She is quite perceptive of her daughter's feelings. Nakamura: Nakamura is Eri's personal butler. He is very perceptive, attending carefully to Eri's needs as they come up. During the Battle of Yagami High, he masquerades as Eri in order to protect her. Masaru: Eri's family's maid. He uses Eri's twin tails to identify her, and occasionally confuses Eri with other characters, such as Tenma and Yoshidayama. An excellent cook. Best Friends Eri is best friends with Mikoto, Tenma, and Akira. Her friendship with Mikoto is especially notable. She often meets up with her friends after class in the Cafe Mercado, where Tenma's sister, Yakumo works. Suou Mikoto: Mikoto is the first friend that Eri makes when she moves back to Japan. Out of all of Eri's friends, Mikoto understands Eri the best, seeing through the facade that she puts up in front of her classmates. The two have a misunderstanding when Tenma suggests that Harima has a crush on Mikoto. However, the two make up afterwards. Mikoto plays an important role in helping to bring Harima and Eri closer together. Takano Akira: Out of her three friends, Eri is closest to Akira. If Eri is keeping her troubles to herself, Akira is usually the first to notice. Although seemingly mercenary, Akira watches out for Eri from the background, often using her skills of perception to mediate problems involving Eri and Harima. However, Eri's feelings for Harima are also often the subject of many of Akira's practical jokes. The two girls understand that each other's outward aloofness is a mask for an inner warmth, and Eri uses her understanding of this to give Akira encouragement to write a play for the Cultural Festival. The two sit next to each other in class. Tsukamoto Tenma: Tenma shares Eri's ineptitude for cooking and Kanji. As such, the two end up studying their Kanji lessons together. On a couple of occasions the two practice cooking together, often with disastrous results. Rivals Eri encounters a number of rivals for Harima's affection as the series progresses. Most of these rivalries arise out of misunderstandings. Yakumo was Eri's most recent rival in the series. Eri's two earlier rivals, Tae and Mikoto currently are active supporters of Eri's budding relationship with Harima, by providing Eri with encouragement and support. Anegasaki Tae: Tae is the first rival that Eri encounters for Harima's affection. When Harima confesses to Eri, Tae arrives to bring him home, causing Eri to misunderstand their relationship. During the Sports Festival Arc, Tae clarifies her relationship and gives Eri encouragement to pursue her interest in Harima. Suou Mikoto: After the trip to the beach, Tenma mistakenly believes that Harima has a crush on Mikoto. When she communicates this to Eri, Mikoto and Eri have a confrontation. However, the conflict is resolved when it turns out that Mikoto was actually harboring a long-term crush on her tutor instead. Tsukamoto Yakumo: Later on in the series, Yakumo's involvement in Harima's manga creates a misunderstanding, causing Eri to think that the two are dating. The misunderstanding is eventually clarified at the end of the Cultural Festival Arc, when Yakumo admits that she isn't dating Harima. Eri is currently aware that Harima is in love with another girl, but she does not know that the girl is Tenma yet. Character Design Overview Throughout the manga, Eri's character design constantly evolves. Since School Rumble is Koyabashi Jin's first manga, there is a noticeable difference between how some characters are drawn in the early chapters of the manga and the later chapters. In some ways, this change reflects Eri's evolution as a character as well. In the early chapters of the manga, Eri acts as a supporting character to Tenma. Her role is more comical than serious, and how she is drawn reflects that. In later chapters, however, she captures a large share of the spotlight as a major character. The later drawings of Eri in the manga reflect this change as well - she is drawn with a tremendous amount of detail. Eyes . One feature that distinguishes Eri is her eyes - she is one of the few characters in the series who is drawn with angular "cat's eyes." Her irises are also drawn with "spoke lines" that radiate outwards from her pupils, giving her eyes a unique, textured appearance. This is her eye in a neutral expression. The top eyelid is an arc with the outer end slightly raised. The outer edge of her eye ends with a little downward stroke which is used to add feminine qualities to the character. Since her eyes are light brown, her iris are never totally colored over with black and "spoke lines" are usually drawn on the iris to represent the visible iris fibers. Her eyebrows are curved arcs with a neutral slant angle which represents her gentleness and moderate personality. Eri's eye has features typically used in Tsundere type of girls. Having this type of eyes, she is able to show a wide range of face expressions like anger, ferocity, seduction, playfulness, shock and disgust in a totally unique way. When drawing Eri, Kobayashi Jin reportedly begins with her eyes. Hair Unlike her close friends, Eri has blonde wavy hair due to her Caucasoid inheritance. She usually keeps her hair at waist length, though sometimes it may appear longer or shorter. She has a stylish layered hairstyle with thick bangs (fringe) which covers her forehead. She usually styles her hair in a twin pony tailed manner using small red ribbons. She also adopts many other hairstyles depending on the situation. Fashion Hairstyles and Hair Accessories Eri adopts a number of different hairstyles throughout the manga, depending on the situation. Twin-Tails Ponytail Limo Scene Hair Red Ribbons Hair Elastic Large Red Ribbon Large Purple Bow Employee B Hat Flower Hair Ornaments Outfits School Uniform Nightgown Gym Uniform White Swimsuit Black Swimsuit Black Dress Prince Costume Employee B Costume Kimono (not sure which type) Character Analysis Overview 愛理 - Love and Reason - these two concepts lie at the center of Eri's character conflict. Torn between the desire to hide behind the protection of her image and the desire to reach out to others, Eri's character development is linked to School Rumble's main storyline. Archetype Eri starts out as a classic tsundere character. This is primarily reflected in her ongoing relationship with Harima. While the tsundere archetype is the starting point for Eri's character, her personality is not limited by the archetype. Over the course of the story her character constantly evolves, turning her into a complex and multidimensional character. Trivia Eri is right-handed. Eri's favourite place is the zoo. Eri's theme song is "Feel My Feeling," by Horie Yui. Eri likes Agedashi Tofu, and dislikes Nattou. Eri prefers Jyuorku tea. The can of tea that Harima hands Eri in Chapter 55 reads "Weird Tea." Eri uses HB lead mechanical pencils. Eri tends to make her onigiri too salty. Eri does grocery shopping for the first time in Super Mart Tanaka. Eri and her friends like to hang out at the Cafe Mercado. The numberplate of Eri's father's limo is Tenzin 11 e 30-75. The first guy that Eri rejects in the series is Sano, in Episode 8. Tenma messes up Eri's hair twice in the manga. In Chapter 154, Eri hugs a stuffed toy version of Pyotr. Parodies Mecha-Sawa: A pun on Mechazawa from Cromartie High, this is a popular fan parody that adds Eri's twin tails to Mechazawa. An alternate form of this parodies Mecha-Hisui from Tsukihime. Sawagashi Airi: A tsundere type character from the anime Kage Kara Mamoru who has a similar sounding name and twin tails. Tohsaka Rin Cosplay: Some fan artists have taken to drawing Eri wearing the outfit of Rin from Fate/Stay Night, based on their similar character designs. Harima is usually included, cosplaying as Rin's servant Archer.

B) Раз уж пошло обсуждение Акиры,вот самая достоверная инфа(учите английский,господа ;) ): Overview The smartest of the main female characters in School Rumble, Akira is the brains and strategist of the group. Always keeping a low profile, her quiet nature keeps her from drawing attention to herself, which Akira uses to her advantage to gather information on her classmates and seems to know every detail of their personal lives. Curious by nature, Akira analyzes everything she sees in a very meticulous way and always seems to be one step ahead of everybody. Talents and Interests The president of the Tea Club, Akira is well-learned in the art of brewing and serving tea, as well as keeping the club free from unwanted people, as demonstrated in episode #5, where she tricks Hanai Haruki into taking a tea-tasting test in order for him to join the club and be able to be around Tsukamoto Yakumo; a test which he fails miserably, as it was arranged by Akira. She is also an avid reader and maintains a part-time job at a bookstore in order to have more time to read. Her interest in reading stories has led to a corresponding interest in writing them. In fact, she was selected to write the script for the play class 2-C performed in the cultural festival. Due to certain unforseen curcumstances Akira had to rework the end of play while it was in progress, but with the help of her classmates she was able to make it a success. Sensible and intelligent, Akira seems to be very financially savvy, a trait she also seems to value in guys. Though somewhat introverted, she frequently takes on the role of director or supervisor, such as in the Gun Battle arc, 2-C's class play and cafe, Tea Club, and the mountainside picnic cookoff. In the Gun Battle arc of the Manga and Anime, Akira demonstrates her skills as a video editor, turning the student battle into an movie, apparently for her own amusement. A very mysterious character indeed, Akira is rumored to actually be an international spy. This is shown briefly during a short CG animation in season 1 episode 17 and again in season two episode 7, where she demonstrates her great physical abilities, such as fighting and gymnastics, as well as riding a motorcycle. Fitting well with her job as a spy, Akira has displayed skill with the use and concealment of handguns. Meaning of Her Name In Japanese, the characters that make up one's name convey meaning as well as a pronunciation. In some cases an author may choose to use specific characters because their meaningings convey something relevant about the character's personality or role in the story. 高 (たか, taka) tall, high, expensive. 野 (の, no) plains, field, rustic, civilian life. Personality As serious and cold-blooded as she appears to be, she’s a very kind person and cares for her friends, but her pride and sarcasm often make her appear cold and merciless to others; her friends however, know better than that and they care for, and respect her, often relying on her to help them with schoolwork. Akira presents an emotionless facade to the world in order to drive others away. She seeks to avoid contact with others out of fear that she is inadequate. Even though she is obviously quite skilled in certain areas she does not want to display those skills in front of others for two reasons. First that people might recognize her failings and point them out. Second that people might praise her, but knowing that she has not met her own impossible standards such praise only makes her feel worse. Thus by adopting an air of mystery she builds a barrier between herself and others and conceals the true extent of her abilities. Relationships Love Interests There are no confirmed reports of Akira being romantically interested in anybody, but it is speculated that she might have a crush on Hanai Haruki, as he is the guy she gives the most attention to, even if not in a very good way… When Sara Adiemus asks Akira about times when she confessed romantic feelings to a guy, she says that she'd rather not discuss it. Best Friends Sawachika Eri: Being beautiful and half-Japanese made Eri always stand out in school, drawing attention from the guys and jealousy from the other girls. Akira was the first person to ever talk to Eri in school, since then, they’ve been inseparable friends and often enjoy gossiping and criticizing other people, as they both have similar wits and sense of superiority. Both Eri and Akira present a facade to the outside world. Even though they have different reasons for doing so, this puts them in a unique position to understand one another. A prime example of this occurs during episode four of season two when Akira and Eri discuss the possibility of Akira writing the script for the class play. Eri's comments to Akira indicate that she understands Akira's outward demeanor is not a true representation of Akira's internal disposition. This is further corroborated by the script Eri writes to encourage her friend, affirming that doing something to help out others will make Akira happy. On the other hand, Akira tends to tease and use sarcasm in order to point out the contradictions inherent in Eri's own facade and, in particular, her unwillingness to admit feelings for Harima. Akira is one of the few people able to ruffle Eri's feathers enough to let her true personality show through. Tsukamoto Tenma: One of her three best friends, Tenma seems to amuse Akira with her antics, so she’s always paying attention to her and her “dramatic” love life. As hard as she might be with her criticism sometimes, Akira seems very lenient towards Tenma, which is a sure indication of how much she cares for her feelings, but being as lovable as Tenma is, who wouldn’t? It could be said that Tenma is the antithesis of Akira, so it’s interesting to see their interactions, as they lead you to wonder how they became friends in the first place. It is perhaps this contrast that draws them together, as they both posses the exact qualities that the other one lacks. Suou Mikoto: Mikoto’s straight forward and open hearted nature makes for another nice contrast with Akira’s character. If we were to compare their characters using analogies, we could say that Mikoto could be a samurai, whereas Akira would be a ninja, as their outward personalities are well-reflected in these stereotypes. Tea Club Companions Tsukamoto Yakumo: Perhaps sensing that Hanai's feelings for Yakumo are not reciprocated, Akira protects Yakumo from his advances by first preventing him from joining and then outright banning him from the Tea Club. Sara Adiemus: When Sara confesses to Akira that she feels unqualified to help people who come to her church seeking relationship advice, Akira consoles her. Akira is suprisingly open with Sara, admitting that she may have confessed romantic feelings to someone in the past, but refusing to elaborate. Osakabe Itoko: As the sponsor of the Tea Club, Osakabe-sensei is the faculty moderator and liason of the club. She and Akira get along well and like Akira she possesses certain skills one would not expect to find in a high school physics teacher. This has led many to suspect that the Tea Club may in fact be a cover for a more covert operation of some sort. Rivals Hanai Haruki: He is Akira’s only real rival, but strangely enough Hanai is also believed to be her only love interest. (It can be noted that during the Valentine's Day arc of the Manga, she tosses a chocolate in his window, which lands in his mouth...) The relationship between the two started off on an ugly row from the moment they met. In their first encounter at the Tea Club, Hanai quickly became a sensationally irritating thug in the toe for Akira. To return the favor, she ensured that his attempts to join the club were as miserable as it could get. In this way, their relationship can be described as “hate at first sight”. Subsequently, their relationship has become one of the most enjoyable, funny, and complementary in the series. On many occasions, Hanai’s loud and outrageous personality is answered perfectly by Akira’s mischievous and merciless attitude. It must be noted, however, that Hanai does not seem to hold a grudge against Akira despite the contrary being true; he always treats her with the same respect and level of politeness that he does with everyone else. He even prepared a lunchbox for Akira along with everybody else (except Harima) during the trip to the beach. Fuyuki Takeichi: According to Fuyuki's trading card his weak point is Akira, his rival. However, to date there has been no substantial indication in the story that Fuyuki and Akira are rivals. In fact, in the rare instances where the characters interact at all, they seem to get along fine. As Akira is skilled with a camera herself - she produces a video of 2-C's gun battle - it's possible that Fuyuki considers Akira his rival in that regard. Character Design Eyes Like Sawachika Eri, Akira is one of the few characters in School Rumble to possess angular eyes rather than the rounded design more commonly found in manga and anime. However, unlike Eri her character does not make full use of the range of expressions such a design allows for, but rather employs a smaller range of much more subtle expressions. Hair Kobayashi Jin has drawn Akira with only three different hairstyles and of the three one appears only in the supplimental School Album.
