по поводу тупого Луффи. wall of text incoming Luffy's maturing at an incredible rate... he is actually molding into a good pirate captain perhaps its because I read the manga in a short space of time so I picked up on this very quickly but intially he was alot more impulsive and wreckless, before he would jump into situations and make moves that would be a liabilty to the crew... arlong arc was a good example when got his feet stuck on the ground and had to rescued from dieing in the water. Infact before if you noticed his crew had less respect for him because of his immaturity and they kind of made it clear when they kinda joked about choosing the wrong brother when Ace was on board (alot of truth is said in jest). Intially his appeal was his toughness and ability to 'win through' some tough opponents and his righteos attitude. Slowly but surely though he is starting to make decisions and talk like a real captain. Leaving Going Merry was one of them, although it was a tough choice and Usopp was completly against it, he saw past his emotions unto logic and stood by his decision for the better of the crew... Another good example was in the Archipelagio when he was up against it, I really thought he'd continue his 'don't care what opponent, I will beat u' attitude and made the decision for the crew to split up and run. I was actually surprised by that decision (as it was from Luffy), but I think it was the right one, its pointless being slaughtered by an enemy you have no chance against. He's also showing alot of maturity in his fighting style now, the candle fist idea against the poison guy was pretty smart, and his fight with Mihawk when he was emotional about saving Ace, but was still headed enough to know what not to do, even Mihawk was surprised at that. So where's Luffy's character growth go from here? I think as he grows in strength, so does his maturity... he's definately going to learn to control and use his Haki... how else will he stand a chance against some of the monstrous Logia users. He will also learn to be a great leader not only by what he does but also by what he says. Don't get me wrong... he's still going to be the loveabl, wreckless idiot.... but mark my words....the wise Luffy is coming... he as already showed alot of signs of it when he talked to Vivi about saving people.
