Очень хорошее его описание зделал/а sweetanegl_jiji_tu (зарегистривавшийся/аяся на форуме( с которого я его взяла) сциально что бы написать один единственный пост  ) One of the greatest aspects of NANA is its ability to notice complexity in characters beyond the typical stereotypes. Each character has a secret and some flaw which makes them both endearing and realistic. In Takumi, i think that is very prevalent. He's probably the most hated character in the manga because outwardly, he has the image of a cold, selfish, heartless guy, but beneath that, we do see glimpses of a deeper personality. This personality is what Hachi falls in love with. She says herself that Takumi is the only one who accepts her for who she really is, because he sees all of her, the empty, thoughtless, reckless Hachi but also the cute, warm Hachi. Nobu is unable to see that. Shin noted that Nobu idealizes women, something he does to Hachi as well. Outwardly, he seems like a good match for her, but in a deeper context he ultimately cannot provide for her. Not only is he unable to provide for her financially at first, emotionally, Nobu is too young, naive and optimistic to be a good match for Hachi's equal naviety. They are both reckless and compassionate to a fault, letting people take advantage of them because they see only what they want to see in others. In the entertainment industry, eventually, that optismism and innocence is going to be destroyed in Nobu, which he notes to Yuri. Hachi loves Nobu for his pureness and kindness. When he slowly changes, the relationship would not have lasted anyways. Then there is Nobu's own limitation of seeing beyond the circumstance. He often needs Shin to explain situations to him. With Hachi, a girl who is so lost in her life that she doesn't know what direction she should go and would often sleep with the first guy she sees when she is sad, he can't possibly handle the complexity of her circumstances or understand her mentality. Underneath that innocent exterior, Hachi herself recognizes that she has another self; the selfish, boastful, reckless, thoughtless self that got her pregnant, dumped and without a direction in life. Hachi also notes that Takumi is the only one who sees that side of her. Even Nana cannot see this side of Hachi, no matter how close they are. Takumi is always level- headed and able to make decisions objectively, if sometimes these actions seem cruel. Hachi needs someone like that in her life to help her make decisions. She is forever indecisive, running to Nana or Junko for support, but they are only friends. For a husband, she does need someone like Takumi who can take care of her and offer her that protection she so craves. Now on another note, I think takumi honestly does love Hachi, even if he cheats on her. This is a man who has grown up without a father b/c the father basically ran out on him. He thinks lowly of his mother, shown by how he doesn't cry at her funeral. With such blatant signs of neglect and lack of love in his life, its only natural he would have trouble with expressing his emotions, thus the emotionless, cold exterior. Takumi uses sex, even when he was young, as a tool for pleasure. To him, sex isn't an act of love, its a way of escaping reality and stress. I think the momentary sense of belonging and that sense of being needed is what makes him addicted to sex, making him a playboy. He craves sex b/c he hates his own life and wants to escape, and because he craves what he has never known in life: love. However, sex with random women does not provide love, and that is where Hachi comes in. I think Hachi's warmth towards everyone in her life struck a cord with him. She is kind to him without wanting anything in return, as she is with everyone, which must be new to Takumi, who is used to women wanting him for his looks. I also think Takumi sees himself in Hachi. Underneath it all, they are two very lonely people desperately looking for love, and desperately wanting to be needed. It's only natural that Takumi would be very posessive of Hachi. he does care for her, as Ren notes, and having never actually felt real kindness in his life or some form of love, he wants to cling to what hachi gives him so freely. So, when Nobu threatened to take that away, he becomes very agressive. The both times Takumi "raped" Hachi happens after a confrontation with Nobu. He tells her that he "can't stand another man touching her". There is the fear of losing someone close again, the insecurity and childhood fear of losing love and not being loved anymore. He thinks he is "regaining" hachi by having sex with her. It's a demented form of thinking but for someone who thinks all he has to offer women are his good looks and abilities in bed, i think it makes sense. sex is a form of posessiveness. it still doesn't excuse the way he treated her, but hachi herself agreed to the sex, and it cannot be considered rape if she consented. she may have not like it, but she consented. my last point about takumi is that his general character, aside from his relationship with hachi, is not exactly without compassion. takumi is very kind to reira. he never leads her on and he is always looking out for her. for ren, he cancelled his own wedding so that ren and nana could have theirs. certainly, that is a form of selflessness and devotion to the band. there is also how he will go to any lengths to help the band. in a later chapter, he even tricks the journalist into getting his way so they don't post the article about ren and reira. the event really shows how crafty, capable and intelligent he really is. it may not have been an honest thing to do, but it was a realistic action and it allowed for everyone to have a happy resolution at his own expense. I think hachi made the right choice when she chose takumi. he fills the parts of her personality, which is her weakness and she gives to him what he so lacks; sensibility.
